sees us concentrating on our herb plants; we are proud of the diverse - and continually expanding - range that we have built up over the years. For the last few years we have been selling the herbs in coir pots, thereby cutting down on plastic waste and enabling the plants to be transferred straight into the ground with the minimum of stress.

We are also increasing the number and variety of vegetable module plants we sell.  These have proved very popular as more people rediscover the advantages of growing their own vegetables, and the newspaper pots they are grown in make a convenient medium for transplanting.

From late July, the emphasis shifts to vegetables, as the French beans and cucumbers start cropping; these are followed by a wide variety of tomatoes, peppers, garlic, aubergines, squashes, onions, potatoes and a small range of other vegetables during the autumn.

We also grow fruit - a succession of apples, from the early Discovery to frost-tolerant Crawley Beauty, plums, from yellow sugar plums to Victorias, grapes - and good summers see figs and peaches on the stall.
